First, the cat is blindfolded. Then the ball is hidden by bowling it into dense foliage; when the referee’s whistle is blown the cat’s blindfold is removed and it is instructed to find the ball. The length of time the cat takes to find the ball is recorded, and the cat who finds it in the shortest time wins.
